Excuse Me, I Believe Your Pot is Boiling.
At some point, you’ve probably heard that if you drop a frog in a pot of scalding hot water, it will immediately leap out. But if you drop the frog in lukewarm water and gradually raise the temperature, the frog will die. It lacks the ability to rethink the situation, and doesn’t realize the threat until it’s too late.
My home might as well have been a lily pad…
How many of you have a hope chest full of objects, cards & letters from your life? Maybe a favorite sweater or a hat you wore when…? Do you have items throughout your home that tell a story? This was given to you from your son and it was for your 40th birthday, that framed print on the wall came from a dear friend who knew the symbolism meant so much to you, your weathered messenger bag because you shared the story and a dear friend heard it and knew it could never be replaced but maybe a new one could create new memories too. Most people have moments brought to life through the power of the stories held deep within the wood, the leather, the paint or photo. Everyone but me.
I own a bag that has 9 cards in it from my son, 8 cards from my family from the past two birthdays or Mother’s Day and that’s it. Is this odd? I didn’t think so till I realized I didn’t feel. Not only did I not feel, I didn’t see. I didn’t see myself that is.
